DMN Software-Entwicklung GmbH announces support for its HAVi software package on QNX® Operating System

Vienna/Austria, February 6, 2004 — dmn Software-Entwicklung GmbH (DMN), Europe’s leading HAVi 1.1 solution provider is pleased to announce to have extended its range of supported operating systems (OS) for its entire HAVi stack product range by RTOS QNX®. The list of supported OS for its entire HAVi stack now includes beside QNX® also Windows® as well as the popular open source operating system Linux. Furthermore, it has been proven to run on RTEMS (Real-Time Executive for Multiprocessor Systems operating system). DMN’s support of QNX operating system is mainly driven by the demand of the automotive industry. The change to another operating system does not affect any higher HAVi modules/applications or other supported protocols such as AV/C since all modifications are located in DMN’s ALOS (Abstraction Layer for OS) and AL1394 (Abstraction Layer for 1394 driver) modules.
