HAVi TSC and WG Meeting

January 8-11, 2001

On behalf of HAVi, we are pleased to announce that the next Technical Steering Committee (TSC) and working groups (WG’s) meetings will be held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina in San Diego, California.

The TSC & WG's will meet as follows:

January 9-11, 2001	TMWG
January 9-10, 2001	CMWG, PSWG

Hotel Room Rate: A hotel guestroom rate is US$209.00 single/double room per night plus local tax. Please make your reservations directly with the hotel and mention HAVi to secure this price. Please note that we have reserved this block of rooms at special group rates, and in order to keep the catering costs and sleeping and meeting room rental rates low, you are strongly discouraged from taking accommodation at other area hotels. HAVi may have to pay a substantial penalty if the minimum guarantee is not met. The sleeping room rate that the Sheraton is offering us is excellent! The cutoff date for our room block is Friday, December 15. The special room rate is not guaranteed after this time. You are responsible for booking your own guestroom. The hotel accepts all major credit cards.

Transportation: The airport is located less than 10 minutes from the Sheraton. Cloud 9 Shuttle Service is available to you at a rate of US$6.50 each way. It is not necessary to make a reservation. Taxi’s are also available for approximately US$9.00 each way.

The hotel offers views of the scenic marina, and easy access to both the San Diego International Airport and some of the country's most unique attractions, including: Sea World, the world-famous San Diego Zoo, historic Old Town, Balboa Park with its theatres and museums, and Seaport Village -- most of which are within a 10-minute drive of the hotel.

Registration, Meeting costs, and Meals: The TSC and WG meetings require meeting space, audio visual equipment rental and catered lunch and two breaks daily. Accordingly, HAVi will charge each attendee a nominal fee to partially cover meeting costs.

The cost will be US$100 per day, so you will need to indicate the number of days you will be attending the meetings.We will fax an invoice to each attendee as his/her registration form is received. Please note the registration form is available on the web site at www.havi.org.
